Please be sure to read these and bring them to the attention of others who may need the information. School Closure FAQ Click Here To Read More Questions and Answers Regarding School Closure #1 - March 15, 2020 Q- Could schools be closed longer than two weeks? A - Yes, but a decision about a longer closure will be made as more information becomes available over the coming days. Communication regarding any changes to the period of closure will be widely distributed. Q- Will the date of Spring Break be changed? A - No. Spring Break is scheduled for April 6-10 and will not change. Q - Will we be able to feed students during the closure? A - Yes. Meals for any student in Dixon will be available from 11:30 -12:00 at C.A. Jacobs and Gretchen Higgins. All students are eligible for the meals and must come to either site to receive lunch and breakfast for the next day. Details are available on the district website and Facebook. Q - Are students expected to do school work during the closure? A - It is not practical for us to try to provide lessons to all students for a variety of reasons. We strongly urge parents to review the “Digital Educational Resources for Families” document you can find here https://www.dixonusd.org/schoolclosureinformation#DERF for recommendations for students to use. Q - What District activities or events will be held during the school closure period? A - No District activities or events will be held during the closure period. Q - What’s going to happen to upcoming district events or activities like testing, 5th Grade Camp, sporting events, graduation, etc.? A - We simply do not know when we will be back to our normal schedules and activities, so cannot make announcements about any specific events at this time. We will be providing regular updates as decisions are made, so continue to look for them. Q - Are District employees losing their pay during the closure? A - No. All employees remain in full paid status during the closure. Q - Will the schools be cleaned during the closure? A - Yes. All schools and offices will be cleaned in the next several days, after which they will remain closed and off-limits to staff. Q - Will the District lose its funding from the State during the closure? A - No. The Governor has issued an order that all districts will receive their regular funding while closed.
